Abstract

The 1919 Transcript is the third annual volume of the Chicago-Kent College of Law yearbook. This volume includes faculty and student photos, lists of students enrolled in the classes of 1920, 1921, and 1922, as well as a list of post-graduate students. The 1919 Transcript also includes details on student organizations: the Chicago-Kent Athletic Association and Burke Debating Society, as well as fraternity and sorority information. Also included are a literary section consisting of student articles and poetry, a humor section, and a section titled "Military" which includes a list of Chicago-Kent students and alumni enlisted in World War I, photographs of students in military dress, and a firsthand account of the Battle of Belleau Wood in "The Devil Dogs," by student Clyde L. Todd of the 6th Regt. Marines.

The 1919 issue of the Transcript includes a memoriam to Edmund Whitney Burke, who served as Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County from 1893 to 1903, and as dean of the Chicago-Kent College of Law from 1904 until his death on September 7, 1918.
